Joe Paterno's Wife Denied Penn State Pool Access

A person close to former Penn State coach Joe Paterno's family has told The Associated Press his wife was turned away from a campus pool. Sue Paterno is an avid swimmer known for taking early-morning laps in the pool. The person who requested anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation said Wednesday night the rejection left the family saddened. A university spokesman said he was unaware of any such directive. The school had said last week that Paterno still held tenure.

FALL RIVER (CBS) — There’s another strange twist after a woman’s body was found floating in a public pool in Fall River, possibly going unnoticed for days. Rally held for gay men allegedly kicked out of pool

On Saturday, dozens of people protested the actions of a city employee, who allegedly removed two gay men with disabilities from a facility run by the city of Hazard. In a report released by the city, a lifeguard at the Pavilion alleges the men were repeatedly hugging and kissing. Facility officials say this is inappropriate for both heterosexual and homosexual couples. In its largest ever pool drain cover recall, the government's lead consumer watchdog has recalled almost 1 million pool and hot tub drain covers because of a drowning risk.
